If you’re in the mood for something a little more refined during your stay, make sure to check out two local favorites: St. Augustine Distillery and San Sebastian Winery. Both are just a short drive from the house and are perfect for a fun (and flavorful) outing.

At the St. Augustine Distillery, you’ll get complimentary tastings of their small-batch spirits — all crafted using Florida-grown ingredients. The tour is engaging and informative, but the real star is the gin cocktail they let you sample. I’ll be honest — I’m not usually a gin fan, but it was so good I had to buy the cocktail mixer kit right then and there. If you’re not a gin fan, the Florida Mule – their version of a Moscow mule with vodka, is a must try – and they have the mixer kit for this one as well. It comes with everything you need to recreate that same drink back at the house — and yes, it’s as easy as shake, pour, sip, repeat by the pool. Don’t leave without heading upstairs to the Ice Plant — the vintage-style bar and restaurant located right above the distillery. With its cool, retro vibe, it’s the kind of place where you could settle in for a few crafted cocktails and some seriously good small plates. (Trust me — get the appetizers.)

If wine is more your speed, swing by San Sebastian Winery. They offer a quick and casual tour, a complimentary tasting, and a gift shop stocked with fun finds. While their muscadine wines might not be for everyone (I don’t personally care for them), the real gem is the rooftop bar.  With Impressive views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline and waterways, it also boasts views of the downtown historic district and nearby marshes. In addition, they frequently offer live music in the background, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon with friends or a romantic date.
