Family Seining at the GTM Research Reserve
Hosted by the GTM Research Reserve, you’re invited to join docents from 9-11 a.m. to learn how to pull a seine net. Participants will collect fish and crabs as well as learn about their habitats and their role in the environment. Waders and boots provided. After your hands-on adventure at the GTM Research Reserve, enjoy a scenic drive south toward the Vilano area and stop at The Reef for oceanfront dining or Aunt Kate’s for a classic Floridian lunch under the oaks. For a quick caffeine fix or a light snack, Vilano Coffee Company is a great local spot to visit before reaching your destination. Once you arrive at your Wander & Rest property, rinse off the salt air and transition into total relaxation by taking a dip in the heated saltwater pool or melting away any tension in the private infrared sauna. To cap off your day of coastal discovery, enjoy a peaceful soak in the hot tub as the sun sets over the nearby waters.
